Spa Six Hours – Strong Showing for MCR-Prepared Lotus Elan 26R

Race Weekend Overview

The team at Midland Classic Restorations enjoyed an intense and thrilling weekend at the #1 Spa Six Hours Endurance race, held from 25th to 27th September 2025. Our MCR-prepared Lotus Elan 26R, expertly transported and managed by the team, took on the challenging 78-car grid, delivering a performance full of determination and skill.

Qualifying and Early Stages

After a competitive qualifying session, the Elan secured 9th in class and 32nd overall, setting the stage for an eventful race. Connor Kay got the car off to a strong start, climbing through the field to hold 4th in class for a significant portion of the race. A routine pit stop briefly dropped the team to 8th in class, but Dominic Mooney demonstrated excellent pace and composure, bringing the car back up to 5th in class during his stint.

Final Stint and Finish

Connor returned to the wheel for the final stint, pushing the car up to 4th in class and 8th overall, despite some late-race challenges—including being overtaken by a Pro-team Lotus Elan and a GT40—the team finished the 6-hour endurance race 5th in class and 11th overall, a strong result given the highly competitive field.
