Here we have in the workshop a very well known if a little quirky 1960’s Le Mans Race car. A Deep Sanderson. This small mid engined Car was built in low volumes in the 1960’s and this car was the Factory race car that competed at Le Mans several times. With its Mid mounted A-series engine and light chassis the car was clocked at a remarkable 150mph+ on the straight at Le Mans in 1964. The car is now looked after by another local race team and was at Midland Classic Restorations for some modifications to the roll cage for the new owner. The interior if the car is shall we say snug, and modifications were required to improve safety for a taller driver. Any modifications made must also be checked to ensure compliance with the FIA appendix K Homologation as a historic race car. The Modifications were completed and the car went on to compete in the 2014 Le Mans Classic.
